SOS

This is one of the newest tracks on the album. Written in 2025, this song chronicles the fear, unrest, and unknown of facing the wrath of a storm head on. As someone who has been through typhoons, severe thunderstorms, tornadoes large enough to decimate a town in a single pass, floods, and hurricanes, Michael Wheeler wrote from his own experience and those of his family and friends. The title SOS has a double meaning as it’s an abbreviation of “storm of storms” from the song’s chorus. The song came about organically, with no preconceived plan at the onset. Its unsettling piano opening leads to a heavier section. Tempo changes and minor chord progressions keep the tension going for the listener, encompassing the traumatic feeling of chaos.
